Card great, shame about the helpline access |
|
Superb card but took some tweaking to make it work. Helpline was very difficult to get through to (10mins plus on 0870 number, must be more profitable than the factory!) Although tech support were helpful I eventually had to solve the problem myself, a conflict with my onboard network card (IBM T22)Disabling this card in Device Manager allowed the card to work. Combined with my Netgear ADSL router I now have Internet Network access all over my house. Good gear, Netgear

Netgear Wireless 54G PCMCIA Adapter |
Easy to set up, only problem was with 802.11b Access Point - kept dropping the signal (without moving anything) every 5 minutes or so, then rescanning, and connecting again. Other than that, it has been very reliable and very useful. If your buying all 802.11g equipement, then Id highly recommend Netgear. As an added bonus, it also looks good with my new Inspiron 5150, same colour and all.

Drivers problematic .. |
|
I bought two of these cards and had a lot of trouble getting them to work under Windows XP and Windows 2000. To cut a long story short I could only get them to work reliably under Windows XP, and then only with the oldest drivers on the CD - the latest drivers off the Web site blue-screened XP. None of the drivers are certified. I received no help from Netgears support in spite of several attempts to contact them.
